Dr. Fiona Katsubana's shower

Dr. Fiona Katsubana takes a caustic shower dissolving her flesh to prove her hypothesis that her soul can remain living in her animated skeleton. Just finished my second book of developing this God Labs idea, this is the last page of Black Book II. I was originally going to work on a biblical story that wasn’t so dark, but I kept coming back to this idea of a nuclear laboratory and scientists trying to make a gate to heaven and it just started to grow in my brain mush. I could really feel it push out my thinking about Red and the Wolfe and take over, and I was like ‘oh boy, this is a grim story.’

Uncanny Valley fanart

My fanart of Eve from Uncanny Valley, which I recommend to all those looking for a psychological pixel art horror game about being a security guard in a mysteriously abandoned human robotics laboratory!

The Black Books

I made these Black Books out of the pile of super ink absorbing plotter paper my dad brought me from when he was printing plotting things. I've been developing my tentatively titled 'God Labs™' in them. I feel like they look ominous and consistent with the world I've been drawing, so when I see the books and look through them it all feels so nice and uniform and warm and I evaporate into love.

inkovember!

Spent two and a half hours today at Barnes and Nobel looking through art books/ graphic novels/ comics/ and manga. I saw one called ‘All You Need is Kill’ and I said in my head “if this is $10 I’m getting it” and it was $14. So I got it, mostly because of the title, but also because it looks to be the manga version of live die repeat, and I did not know that existed. The title reminds me of ‘Blood Lad’, which my friend kept trying to tell me was good, but I never heard him because I was laughing too hard at the title and the image it conjured of a small boy made from a thin condom like membrane of skin overfilled with blood. So naturally I assumed the story was about him constantly in peril of being popped and the Lad loosing all his blood.

Junji Ito's GYO

I got and read Junji Ito's Gyo. I didn't really get it, the writing was extremely dry to my ear. For example, this character's only real defining characteristic is that she is really upset about smells and is incessantly complaining about them through the entire book. And I was all, lets give you a big smile, because without a strange smile on your face your character is thinner than the paper you're printed on.

Dr. Katsubana's God Labs ID and clearance card

"Dr. Fiona Katsubana, a leading expert in persistence-of-soul research, demonstrated the validity of her hypotheses by dissolving the flesh from her mortal body. She lives on as an animated skeleton often experimenting on herself to scientifically deduce why she yet lives."

Some projects

Non drawing things: I took the talisman out of my katana's handle then carved a space for it in a wooden sword I made and epoxied it in. Made new clamping faces for my vice which now it looks too nice to use. Fashioned a clever apparatus that looks like a baseball bat is sticking out of my ceiling. been experimenting with different shades for bare ceramic light bulb fixtures. I don't really like any of them yet, except the one that is all cut up, which I cut up because I didn't like it. Also the wooden one has some of that pink salt blocks glued to the bottom of it. Put a chandelier in my garage. Remade my kitchen light, cut some of the glass off the bottom then painted it black and distressed it. also Fall, also this van gogh smoking skeleton poster fluoresces nicely under black light.
