The God Labs Chapter 02 is out! Tell your kids! Tell Grandma! Tell your most beloved Item! And remind them, this may just be a silly little story about research into the persistence of the human soul and what happens beyond the veil, but they are whom really matter to you.
The next panel shows it is a box of random food from the cafeteria, didn't want anyone to get any depraved ideas without that being explicitly stated. Almost done with chapter 2, this is the fastest I've worked in my life ever.
The gang meets Long Stephen what appeared in The God Labs Strip Club #03. I've never been in a strip club so I'm taking my best guess at what might be on the walls.
I finished the Cool Fiona cover for Chapter 2 already but I thought I'd redo it in Krita. I have a lot more fun painting in Krita
As established in The Satan Killers, Jim had an office next to Satan. Maybe The Overseer feels he should have done something when he no doubt heard all the shooting. Also I edited my watermark for MMXXVI
At the table I was working there was a little girl sitting next to me, it severely limited what I could work on since she could see my screen. So every time I caught her looking over I started drawing bunnies
Done a few pages now exclusively in Krita, this is how I ended up setting up the workspace. I like that you can paint a thumbnail for a brush preset in the brush tool, so I did that for all the ones I made.
Working on backgrounds for Chapter 2. The guy Fiona is interviewing at the end of Chapter 1 is going in this thing which I based on some giant piece of equipment in Russia made to detect subatomic particles. Fiona's goal is to suck out the believing core of this person to use it to fuel the Gate entry of another subject.
An example of the process, going from ink to pencil to photoshop. Hieronymus leads a press tour to spark interest in volunteers for The Gate to Heaven.
Another idea for covers, complete non-sequiturs of events that possibly never happened, like this nice May Day outing. I finish finished all the pencil drawings for chapter 1 and I'm around page 21 of 71 with the photoshop paintings. Might be releasing chapter 1 before the years out at this rate
Now that I have some momentum my goal per day is to complete one page in pencil and one in photoshop. That's the aspiration but it depends on how complicated the scenes are, if they can share backgrounds, if I can manage to draw what I want how I want it, et cetera. Anyway it is moving at break-neck pace compared to The Satan Killers and lightspeed compared to how The God Labs had been going 2017 to present. I'm at about page 12 in photoshop and page 58 of finished pencil drawings, of ~725.
Another Cover Idea, looking at the God Labs tower in the reflection of Remus' helmet. I was thinking of making all the covers all have a reflection of the tower, but I'll probably do a variety instead.
